Fiber classification and industrial use of fiber cloth

Release time:2023-10-26

Fiber cloth is a soft and thick product made of textile fibers. According to the source and properties of fibers, it can be divided into the following materials:

Natural fiber: refers to fibers directly obtained from nature, such as cotton, linen, silk, wool, etc. The advantages of natural fibers are good moisture absorption, comfortable wearing, easy dyeing, and environmental protection. The disadvantages of natural fibers are easy shrinkage, lack of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and easy wrinkling. Natural fiber fabrics have a wide range of uses and can be used to make various clothing, home textiles, handicrafts, etc.

Regenerated fiber: It is a fiber made from natural polymer compounds through chemical treatment and mechanical processing, such as viscose, modal, bamboo fiber, etc. The advantage of recycled fibers is that they have the characteristics of both natural and chemical fibers, such as moisture absorption and breathability, soft luster, high strength, and wear resistance. The disadvantage of regenerated fibers is that they have poor stability to heat and light, and are prone to discoloration and aging. The main use of recycled fiber fabric is to make clothing, underwear, bedding, etc.

Synthetic fiber: It is a fiber made from artificially synthesized polymer compounds through dissolution, spinning, and post-treatment, such as polyester, nylon, acrylic, etc. The advantages of synthetic fibers are high strength, good elasticity, wear and corrosion resistance, and less prone to wrinkling. The disadvantages of synthetic fibers are poor moisture absorption, lack of breathability, easy generation of static electricity, and pilling. The main use of synthetic fiber fabrics is to make sportswear, industrial goods, protective clothing, etc.

Mixed fibers: It refers to the mixing of fibers of different types or properties in a certain proportion to improve the performance and appearance of the fabric. The advantage of mixed fibers is that they can fully utilize the advantages of various fibers, such as increasing strength, improving hand feel, and increasing functionality. The disadvantage of mixed fibers is that they may reduce certain properties, such as moisture absorption and breathability. There are many uses for mixed fiber fabrics, and various styles and effects of fabrics can be designed according to different needs.
